In this Live sound mixer tutorial video I go over the basics of how live sound mixers work using Mackie MIX8 small format mixer.
People ask me what a live sound mixer is all the time, because they can be confusing with all the buttons and knobs. The feature set on a large mixer can be daunting, so in this video we start small. Use the diagrams in the video to really look close at the “in’s and out’s”, then understanding and plugging in will be a breeze! Remember that practice makes perfect and therefore it will take time to really understand the fundamentals of live sound mixers. Don’t get frustrated! As you do more sound for yourself and for others you’ll work out the kinks and find your method. Have fun, It’s music after all and before long you may be using a 60 channel mixer!!
